Residents of Manila can now enjoy free access to several public swimming pools across the city this summer, following a directive from Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso.
The initiative aims to provide safe and clean recreational spaces for families, especially during the hot season, without the need to travel far or spend on private resorts.
Under the program, the following facilities are open to the public:
• District 1 – Vitas Aquatic Center
• District 2 – Reina Regente Sports Complex
• District 2 – Patricia Sports Complex
• District 3 – Paraiso ng Kabataan Sports Complex
• District 4 – Dapitan Sports Complex
• District 5 – Bagong Buhay Sports Complex
• District 6 – Jacinto Ciria Cruz Sports Complex
City officials said the program is intended to give residents, particularly children and families, accessible spaces to cool down and spend time together during the summer months.
The local government also assured that the facilities are maintained to ensure cleanliness and safety for all visitors.
The free swimming access is expected to draw residents from different districts, offering an alternative to crowded beaches and private pools outside the city.
