BACOLOD CITY - A 33-year-old fisherman was allegedly stabbed dead by his brother due to a land conflict in Barangay Bulanon, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, March 25.
The victim was identified by authorities as Jovan.
Investigation said that the victim and the 42-year-old suspect identified as Dodong were having a drinking session with their neighbors when a heated argument erupted over a parcel of land in Toboso, Negros Occidental.
The victim punched the suspect who retaliated by retrieving a six-inch kitchen knife from his residence and attacking the victim.
The victim attempted to flee but the suspect pursued him and repeatedly stabbed him in the right armpit and left hand. He was declared dead in a hospital.
The suspect was arrested by barangay watchmen at his residence and voluntarily surrendered the weapon.
