6 TUP-Visayas graduates shine in electronics engineer, technician board exams

BACOLOD CITY – Six graduates of the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas in Talisay City, Negros Occidental topped the recent Electronics Engineers and Electronics Technicians Licensure Examinations.
Lexther Romel Paloma Kimpo placed fourth in the EELE with a 93.40 percent rating and second in the ETLE with a 93 percent rating.
Marc John Evangelista Jopson placed 10th in the EELE with a 91.90 percent rating.
Jopson, a cum laude in college and hails from E.B. Magalona town, Negros Occidental, said he struggled to sleep, haunted by fear of failing, especially due to one subject he found particularly difficult, before the release of the results.
He turned to faith, visiting church and praying for strength and guidance. When the results were released, he searched for his name and was overwhelmed with gratitude when he passed and landed in the Top 10.
He thanked his family for their unwavering emotional and financial support. “Whatever the result, we are proud of you,” they assured him.
Jopson advised examinees to trust in God and remember their purpose. “It always gets better,” said Jopson.
Herald Anthony Diamonon Cagas topped the ETLE with a 94 percent rating followed by Laurence John Jayme Alfajora in third with 92 percent.
Lester Tongco Braza and Kenneth Baterna Sinoy tied for fourth with a 90 percent rating.
TUP-Visayas emerged as the top-performing school in both exams, with a 91.67 percent passing rate in the EELE (55 out of 60 examinees) and 94.44 percent in the ETLE (68 out of 72 examinees).
The Talisay City government congratulated TUP-Visayas for their achievement, praising the graduates’ dedication and excellence.
“Your success is a testament to your hard work, discipline, and unwavering commitment to excellence. You have not only brought honor to your institution but have also inspired our youth to dream bigger and aim higher,” the city government said in a statement.
“May this milestone be just the beginning of even greater accomplishments as you help shape the future of innovation and technology in our country.”
