In the resolution promulgated on March 2, 2026, the petition was dismissed for being insufficient in form.
The petition was filed by Berteni Cataluña Causing on grounds of alleged American citizenship, disloyalty to the Republic, violation of the political dynasty prohibition, and lack of academic qualifications.
Tulfo welcomed the official dismissal of the petition.
"I am deeply grateful to the Almighty for this decision in our favor. I also thank Atty. Karen Jimeno, who led our legal team in addressing this petition," he said in a statement.
He added that this decision of the SET dismissing Causing’s complaint is a direct and clear affirmation of the earlier dismissals by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) of the disqualification cases he repeatedly filed, as well as those filed by other individuals against us during the campaign period for the 2025 Elections.
"Although a quo warranto case was filed shortly after we assumed office in the Senate, it has never hindered our sincere service. We will continue working," he added.
