In a bid to strengthen tax collection and improve field operations, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has rolled out a sweeping leadership reshuffle, reassigning around 40 key officials across the country.
The revamp, which covers positions from regional directors down to revenue district officers (RDOs), signals a renewed push by the countrys biggest tax-collection agency to optimize performance and tighten enforcement in critical areas.
Leading the high-profile changes, regional director Eric P. Diesto was transferred from the Cavite-Batangas-Mindoro-Romblon (CaBaMiRo) Region to Quezon City, while Assistant Commissioner for client support service Josephine S. Virtusio stepped in as the new regional director of CaBaMiRo.
Meanwhile, assistant regional director Grace Evelyn Lacerna took on a new post in Manila after her stint in the Ilocos Region.
Many RDOs were also reassigned in a bid to enhance operational effectiveness in key districts. These include Dennis P. Floriza, who was moved from Mandaluyong City to Pasay City; Kay M. Templonuevo, who shifted from Central Laguna to Marikina City; and Neco Benedict L. Lim, who transitioned from South Iloilo to Muntinlupa City.
Other notable transfers include Eddie Leo A. Galera II from Cebu City North to North Makati City, Sahaily A. Pandapatan from North Makati to ]Subic Freeport Zone, and Reymarie T. Dela Cruz from Camarines Norte to Cagayan Valley.
The BIR said the reassignments are part of its ongoing efforts to realign leadership, inject fresh perspectives, and ensure that the agency remains responsive to evolving tax administration challenges.
