BACOLOD CITY – A 30-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her 39-year-old live-in partner during a confrontation in their house in Barangay Tangub here on Sunday, March 22.
Police Capt. Sherwin Galupar, head of Police Station 8, said the suspect, a band member, allegedly attacked the victim with a kitchen knife in the chest.
Galupar said neighbors head the couple arguing and saw the victim injured and taken to the hospital by the suspect.
The victim died in the hospital. The suspect was arrested and released from police custody as no charges were filed against him within the reglementary period.
The suspect denied killing the victim and claimed she harmed herself.
He said there was no argument between them and was surprised when the she was armed with a knife, when he arrived home from a gig.
He said there was no intention to harm anyone and he loved the victim.
Galupar said that documents are being readied for the filing of charges against the suspect.
