The Department of Tourism (DOT) is advancing initiatives with Montenegro to attract international investors and expand employment in the country’s travel and tourism sector.
DOT Officer-in-Charge Secretary Verna Buensuceso met with Montenegro Tourism Minister H.E. Simonida Kordic to plan high-profile events and investment forums scheduled for late 2026.
These include ministerial conferences to draw tourism leaders from Asia and Europe and investment forums aimed at generating business opportunities.
Officials said the initiatives are expected to enhance tourism products, improve visitor experiences, and expand employment in both countries’ tourism industries.
The programs build on the Philippines’ momentum after successfully hosting the ASEAN Tourism Forum in Cebu, where regional stakeholders outlined strategies to strengthen the sector in the coming years.
