Two motorcycle riders were injured after they were shot by a still unidentified gunman in Barangay Palangoy, Binangonan, Rizal, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said.
The police report showed that the victims, a 24-year-old motorcycle taxi rider identified as the vehicle's driver and his 32-year-old store manager passenger, were cruising along Quarry Road last March 22 when a man leaning on his parked motorcycle suddenly pulled out a gun and fired shots at them.
The driver was grazed by a bullet on his right waist, while his passenger was shot in his right thigh.
Despite their injuries, the victims were able to outmaneuver the suspect and escape from him before proceeding to Margarito Duavit Memorial Hospital in Brgy. Darangan to receive urgent medical care. The two are now in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the Binangonan Municipal Police Station said a follow-up operation was launched for the gunman's arrest.
