The Kapuso star recently set social media abuzz after sharing his latest bill from the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), which included a hefty “differential charge” of over ₱31,000—on top of his regular monthly dues.
Naturally, Nacino had questions.
“Meralco, may I be connected to your customer service line? I am being billed for a differential bill of 31k plus. Saan galing ‘yan at ano basis ninyo?” he asked.
As if that wasn’t enough, the actor also noted that technicians had shown up at their home, raising concerns about a possible disconnection.
“Nakakapagtaka na doble-doble ang bills,” he added—an observation that, judging by the comments section, could double as a national sentiment.
To Meralco’s credit, the company eventually reached out and explained the charges. Case closed—or at least paid.
“Ending. Bayad. Jusko,” he quipped, in what might be the most relatable three-word financial summary of the year.
Still, Nacino couldn’t help but react after reviewing their billing history, revealing that their annual electricity expenses had already climbed into six-digit territory.
The experience has since nudged the actor toward considering solar energy—because at this point, even the sun seems like a more predictable partner.
Online, netizens chimed in with their own billing horror stories, with some noting sudden spikes despite unchanged usage.
And if someone like Nacino is already blinking at the numbers, one can only imagine the double takes happening in households where budgets are far less forgiving.
