Quick police response saves unconscious teen in Binangonan
A teenage girl was saved by members of the Binangonan Municipal Police after she reportedly lost consciousness after drinking sleeping pills in Barangay Mambog, Binangonan, Rizal, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Sunday, March 22.
Based on the police report, two patrolling officers, identified as Patrolman Richard Valerio and Patrolman John Daryl Magtibay, were approached by the victim's family along Manila East Road last March 17 to seek assistance after the girl suddenly lost consciousness after taking the pills.
The policemen immediately brought the victim to the nearest hospital where she was given urgent medical care.
According to the girl's attending physician, she was rushed to the hospital just in time before her condition worsened.
"The PNP shows that public service is not just about enforcing the law but also about quickly responding to situations that need urgent action. This incident reflects the PNP Focused Agenda, which aims to improve services through better police operations and community support to help the public," PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said.
“Every life matters. Our personnel must always be ready to respond with care and urgency. Sa mga ganitong sitwasyon, mahalaga ang agarang pagtugon upang makapagligtas ng buhay (In these situations, immediate action and response are crucial to save lives)," he added.
