Authorities arrested a man who was seen roaming with a firearm in a barangay in Pasay City on Sunday, March 22.
Col. Joselito De Sesto, Pasay City Police chief, said the suspect, identified as Rolando, 46, was apprehended at around 11:40 p.m. at the corner of Newport Boulevard and Palm Tree Drive in Barangay 183.
According to De Sesto, operatives from the Villamor Substation were conducting a foot patrol when a concerned citizen reported a man carrying a firearm tucked in his waist.
Police immediately responded and accosted the suspect.
When instructed to lift his shirt, authorities recovered a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine and seven live rounds of ammunition.
The suspect failed to present any documents to prove legal possession of the firearm.
He is currently detained at the police custodial facility and is facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
