12 hurt in jeepney-pickup truck collision

BACOLOD CITY – Twelve persons were injured in a collision between a pickup truck and passenger jeepney in Barangay 9 here on Sunday, March 22.
Investigation said that the pickup truck driven by a woman hit the rear right side of the jeepney with 11 passengers and a driver and turned on its side.
Police Major Elmer Bonilla, head of the Traffic Management Unit (TMU), said the 26-year-old pickup driver may have not anticipated the oncoming jeepney since few vehicles were passing by the area at that time.
Bonilla said the injured jeepney occupants were taken to the hospital.
The pickup driver was safe and brought to the police station for investigation, he added.
