SHDA to host 4th Annual Golf Cup at Wack Wack as housing leaders seek synergy

The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) will convene the fourth edition of its annual golf tournament on March 26, 2026, at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong City, aiming to foster closer ties between private real estate firms and government regulators.
The event, titled the 4th SHDA Golf Cup, serves as a high-level networking platform for developers, institutional investors, and financial entities within the Philippine housing sector. Under the theme "Driving Developments Forward," the association seeks to align the strategic discipline of the sport with the long-term planning required to address the country’s housing needs.
SHDA Chairman Francis Richmond Villegas noted that the tournament has evolved beyond a sporting competition into a key forum for industry leaders to exchange insights on emerging market trends. He emphasized that the focus and foresight required on the golf course mirror the adaptability needed by real estate stakeholders to navigate the current economic landscape.
The tournament will utilize a modified Double Peoria scoring system, a format designed to level the playing field for participants of varying skill levels. Competitors will vie for several titles, including Lowest Net Overall Champion and Class A, B, and C trophies. Beyond the standard rankings, the event features skill-based challenges such as "Longest Drive" and "Most Accurate Drive" to encourage engagement across the field.
SHDA National President Kerwin Padua said the inclusive format is intended to create a collaborative environment where industry professionals can connect outside the traditional boardroom setting. He added that the gathering provides a unique opportunity for those shaping the national housing policy and development pipeline to build camaraderie in a relaxed atmosphere.
Registration for the event is priced at ₱9,500 for a full package, which covers green fees, caddie services, shared carts, and access to the awards program. Non-golfing industry professionals may attend the luncheon and raffle segments for a fee of ₱4,500.
The 2026 edition has attracted a broad range of corporate backers, including major developers and financial institutions such as Avida Land Corp., 8990 Housing Development Corp., SM Development Corp., and China Banking Corp. Government entities, including the Philippine Guarantee Corp., are also expected to participate in the ceremonial tee-off, highlighting the public-private partnerships that underpin the domestic property market.
Other key sponsors include Cathay Land Inc., Phinma Property Holdings, and Axeia Development Corp., alongside industrial partners such as Davies Paints and Hafele Philippines. Interested parties can coordinate with the SHDA Secretariat to finalize participation as the organization continues its push to integrate the various stakeholders of the Philippine real estate ecosystem.
