Filipino Muslims gathered at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City on Saturday, March 21, to celebrate Eid’l Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Worshippers offered early morning prayers as part of the celebration, following a month of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.
The Quezon City Bangsamoro Affairs Services said the observance of Eid’l Fitr was based on the official announcement of the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’, signaling the conclusion of Ramadan, a period devoted to fasting and strengthening one’s faith.
In a message, the group expressed hope that Allah would accept the sacrifices, prayers, and good deeds of the faithful, and continue to guide them toward unity and righteousness.
Meanwhile, an outreach activity was also held at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory in line with the Eid celebration.
A total of 135 Muslim inmates at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory participated in an outreach activity led by the Philippine Ulama Congress Organization Inc. and the QC Bangsamoro Affairs Services.
Quezon City Jail Warden JSupt. Maria Lourdes Pacion, along with JSInsp. Philomel Malazarte, chief of the Welfare and Development Unit, joined the activity led by the Philippine Ulama Congress Organization Inc. and the QC Bangsamoro Affairs Services.
The activity included the distribution of halal meals to Muslim persons deprived of liberty, with support from the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Manila.
A spiritual reflection session was also conducted for 135 Muslim inmates, encouraging them to remain hopeful and steadfast despite their situation.
The initiative aimed to address both the physical and spiritual needs of the inmates, while promoting unity and community support during the Eid celebration.
