Robber poses as woman, takes away chatmate's phone, P1,000

BACOLOD CITY – A 29-year-old notorious robber and suspected gun-for-hire was arrested by police for allegedly deceiving and robbing a male chatmate in Barangay Banago here on Wednesday, March 18.
Police identified the suspect as Pocholo.
Police Capt. Rosalino Pugoy Jr., commander of Police Station 3, the suspect arranged to meet the victim after posing as a woman online.
During the meet-up at the suspect’s house, he threatened the victim at gunpoint and took his cellular phone and P1,000.
The victim sought police assistance, leading to the suspect’s arrest. However, authorities were unable to recover the stolen items.
Pugoy said the suspect’s modus operandi involved creating a fake female identity online to lure victims into meetups where he would rob them.
The suspect had an arrest warrant for violating Sections 5 (sale) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The warrant was issued by the Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 47 after his probation was revoked.
The suspect was allegedly involved in multiple robbery cases and a recent shooting incident within the jurisdiction of Police Station 3.
Authorities urged other victims to come forward and file cases against the suspect.
