"Ang sarap ng food!"
These were just some of the delightful comments from the audience who attended the "KUHLinary Concert: Pray. Eat. Sing" at the Hacienda Isabella last Saturday.
The evening was indeed a feast for the senses.
Donita Rose was absolutely hilarious. In between presenting her exquisite seven-course dégustation, Donita would suddenly break into song, much to the delight of everyone. Many still remember her as the famous VJ during the days when MTV Asia dominated our television screens, and that night she was effortlessly charming, witty, and, well, musically interesting.
Then there was Felson Palad, who opened the evening with the powerful and moving “The Prayer.” From the very first song, the audience knew they were in for something special. Felson is an amazing singer whose delivery carries both strength and sensitivity. His Basil Valdez medley and Rey Valera medley were definite standouts of the evening. He performed with sincerity and heartfelt emotion that connected deeply with the audience.
And of course, the birthday girl herself, Kuh Ledesma. To speak highly of her performance is always a given. Kuh delivered exactly what everyone came for: timeless songs, elegance, and that unmistakable voice that continues to captivate audiences after decades in the industry. Her presence elevated the entire evening, reminding everyone why she remains one of the country’s premier performers.
It was truly a beautifully put-together show, where the seven-course dégustation curated by Chef Donita seamlessly melded with the music and performances, creating an experience that satisfied both the palate and the soul.
For the repeat, Kuh's daughter, Isabella, won't be part of the show. Because of the overwhelming response, the "KUHLinary" experience is now moving to Teatrino in Greenhills on Saturday, March 21. Limited seats only. (Robert Requintina)
