The two took turns in spearheading a huge second quarter explosion, combining for 20 of the Kings’ 39 points to erect the big lead and pull away for good.
Playing in his eighth PBA season, Brownlee lived up to the billing as the league’s benchmark for imports by exploding for 31 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks.
Abarrientos provided support with 25 points and seven assists to pick up the slack in the absence of star guard Scottie Thompson. Stephen Holt added 13 while Troy Rosario chipped in 11.
The Kings were actually holding on to a slim 24-21 lead in the first quarter before opening the floodgates in the second quarter to establish a commanding 63-43 lead.
There was simply no looking back for Ginebra from there as the Kings led by as many as 23.
Damien Chongqui paced the Black Knights with 28 points while Jenning Leung added 21 in another losing effort. Macau remained winless through three games.
