Focus crimes down 15% in Central Luzon

Police in Central Luzon recorded a 14.95-percent decline in focus crimes from Feb. 24 to March 18.
In a report on Friday, the Police Regional Office-3 said that from 214 cases recorded between Feb. 1 and 23, the numbers dropped to 182.
PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez attributed the decline to sustained police visibility, proactive law enforcement operations, and strengthened coordination with communities and key stakeholders.
The eight focus crimes are murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, and carnapping of both motor vehicles and motorcycles.
“This positive development reflects our firm commitment to proactive policing and strong community partnership. We will sustain and further strengthen our efforts to ensure safer communities across Central Luzon,” Mendez said in a news release.
