FLAMING HOT 'Cheetozard' was sold at a whopping price of ₱5.2 million ($87,840).
A Pokémon fan has claimed a world record after spending over ₱5.2 million ($87,840) on a Cheeto shaped like a Charizard.
This Flamin’ Hot Cheeto with the likeness of the Pokémon Charizard was recently sold by Goldin Auctions to an anonymous buyer. The singular snack piece can be seen with what appears to be the side profile of the character, showing off its wings and tail. Measuring up to three inches, the chip was then placed on a custom Pokémon card with the nickname "Cheetozard." Its sale is listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest price paid for a video game likeness corn snack.

"Goldin specializes in rare and one-of-a-kind collectibles, and the Cheetozard is exactly this," shared Goldin Auctions head of consignment Dave Amermanat to "Today." "Part of what makes this item so fun and unique is that it bridges two fandoms – Pokémon and Cheetos.” This marks the second time the beloved franchise made records at an auction house, after the notorious YouTuber Logan Paul broke the record for the most expensive Pokémon card sold at auction. Logan had received over ₱958M ($16M) on a Pikachu trading card.
Originally, the Cheeto chip had been bought by Paul Bartlett through an eBay listing for ₱20,966 ($350). It was later acquired by the 1st & Goal Collectibles and preserved sometime between 2018 and 2022. This isn't the first time oddly-shaped Cheeto chips have made headlines. Currently, there is an eBay listing for a Cheeto shaped like Jesus Christ on the cross at ₱29M ($500,000.00). Other listings of Cheetos resembling other objects can also be seen being sold at various prices.
