4 nabbed over unauthorized fuel sale in Albay
Four persons were arrested in Guinobatan, Albay for allegedly trading and selling petroleum products worth P2.3 million illegally.
In a news release Friday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said the suspects were caught selling petroleum products without the required license from the Department of Energy (DOE).
Authorities seized three portable micro fuel dispensers containing 500 liters and one tanker with 100 liters of gasoline and diesel with a total estimated value of P2.32 million.
The suspects are under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Albay for documentation and inquest proceedings.
"This operation proves the PNP will not stand by while illegal activities harm our communities," PNP chief Police Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said.
The operation, conducted Wednesday, was part of the PNP’s ongoing monitoring and enforcement against profiteering, hoarding, and other illegal acts, and supports DOE directives on fuel regulation.
It also reflects the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations and supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s priorities to uphold peace, order, and economic stability.
