Rica Peralejo marks Women's Month with 'She Shines Summit'

Actress Rica Peralejo Bonifacio is encouraging women to claim their voices at the upcoming "She Shines Summit," which she organized with fellow founder Cat Ilacad to gather women leaders, entrepreneurs, and content creators in one space.

The summit will take place on March 28 at Gallio Events Hall in Aseana, Parañaque City, and bring together women seeking to grow their businesses, careers, and personal platforms.
One of the major highlights is the appearance of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, who will serve as the keynote speaker and talk about leadership at the event.
Rica said the summit represents an opportunity to amplify women’s voices at a time when conversations around equality and empowerment continue to evolve.
She noted that while progress has been made, subtle biases toward women remain present in society. “Even in 2026, there’s still this kind of mindset. People don’t always say it directly that women are second-class or weaker. But sometimes, little jokes or statements here and there betray that this is still what they see in us.”

Still, she believes women today are in a stronger position than ever before.
“We’re all very lucky to be alive in this day and age, where our voices are getting stronger. And it’s drowning out all the other voices in the past that told us we deserved less," the award-winning actress noted.
The all-female organizers said the "She Shines Summit" aims to create a supportive environment where women can learn from one another and share insights on entrepreneurship, leadership, and personal growth.
Rica believes that gatherings like the summit help women become more aware of the challenges they face and encourage them to support one another.

“Sometimes our issues as women are things we don’t even notice,” she said. “They become the way we think about ourselves.”
By bringing together women from different industries and backgrounds, the summit hopes to inspire more women to step into leadership roles and pursue their ambitions with confidence.
The 2nd "She Shines Summit" features a stellar lineup of women achievers as speakers. These include Angeline Tham, founder of Angkas; Koleen Chua Yap, co-founder of Aegyo Cakes; Ryna Brito-Garcia, CEO of Sunlight Air; Alexa Jocom, founder and CEO of Halia; Ashley Colet, content creator and founder of Ash Luxe Nails; Cleo Loque, founder of Hiraya Pilipina; Maika Cruz-de Jesus, founder of Experiences by Maika Cruz; Ria Perez, co-founder of Joyeria Jewellery; Kristine Tobillo, founder of The Brow Studio; and Jonah Sison-Ramos of Dear Face Beauty.
