No tropical cyclone is expected to enter or develop within the Philippine area of responsibility in the next two to three days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, March 19.
PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin de la Cruz-Galicia said the country will remain generally free of storms over the long weekend in observance of Eid’l Fitr on Friday, March 20.
However, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” continues to affect Northern Luzon, bringing cloudy skies and rains over several areas.
Over the next 24 hours, cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and Aurora due to the prevailing amihan.
Ilocos Region and Batanes may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also associated with the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have generally fair weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorm activity, PAGASA said.
