mWell wins second GLOMO Award, cementing Philippines' place in global healthtech

Metro Pacific Health Tech's mWell has won the Global Mobile (GLOMO) Award for Best Mobile Innovation Supporting Emergency or Humanitarian Situations at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, making it the first Philippine healthtech app to win in this category and marking a back-to-back GLOMO victory following its 2023 win for Best Mobile Innovation for Digital Life.
"Digital innovation is key to our commitment to national progress," said Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman of mWell and MPIC. "Through mWell, we continue to harness technology to bring quality healthcare closer to every Filipino."

About the GLOMO Awards
Organized by the GSMA, the GLOMO Awards are among the mobile industry's most prestigious global honors. Winners were selected by over 250 independent experts and announced on March 4. mWell joins past winners including Apple, Samsung, Huawei, China Mobile, and China Telecom.

Healthcare for underserved and remote communities
The mWell ecosystem, together with KonsultaMD, now serves 7.3 million users, with 37% from vulnerable and underserved sectors. To date, 179 mWell OnTheGo Clinic-in-a-Bag units have been deployed across remote islands, Indigenous communities, correctional facilities, and disaster-affected areas, supporting nearly one million people across 17 Indigenous communities.
The mWell OnTheGo portable clinic, equipped with a smartphone or tablet preloaded with the app, Wi-Fi, satellite internet, solar panel, and power station, allows patients in remote areas to consult with licensed doctors, receive prescriptions, and access health records without traveling.
mWell also supports BangKalusugan (BangkaHealth) with the DICT, deploying health boats to coastal villages and island barangays. In emergencies, mWell operates Southeast Asia's first medicine drone delivery service, enabling life-saving medicines to reach patients in minutes.
Expanding the digital health ecosystem
mWell is currently supporting OFWs and their families through a partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and OWWA, providing access to Filipino doctors and mind health coaches — including those in the Middle East — via digital consultations.
As PhilHealth's eKonsulta platform is decommissioned on July 1, 2026, mWell's YAKAP Claims Platform, a PhilHealth-certified Clinic Management System, provides a ready replacement for clinics and hospitals, safeguarding continued access to PhilHealth benefits, particularly for indigent patients.
Through the eGov PH App, users can also access mWell Teleconsult services and the mWell HealthID, enabling doctor consultations and health record access through a unified government digital platform. mWell continues to collaborate with DICT to support the country's broader digital health initiatives.
