The decision of the Cathay Pacific to suspend the direct flights to and from Dubai until April 30 has no serious impact on Philippine airport operations, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
But it said passengers with connecting flights through affected Middle East hubs need to coordinate with their respective airlines for possible rebooking, rerouting, and updated travel advisories.
"The CAAP takes note of the announcement by Cathay Pacific regarding the temporary suspension of its flights in light of the evolving security situation in the Middle East," the CAAP statement read.
It said the CAAP continues to closely monitor developments and is in coordination with relevant international aviation authorities and airline operators to ensure the safety and security of passengers and crew.
