Two thieves belonging to the notorious "Dura-Dura Gang" robbery group were arrested by the police in Barangay Pio Del Pilar, Makati City, last March 17.
The Makati City Police identified the suspects as aliases "Rachelle" and "Rosemarie."
Based on the police report, the victim was walking along Osmena Highway near the corner of Arnaiz Avenue when he suddenly felt someone bump him from behind and found out that his sling bag was unzipped and his wallet missing.
He later spotted one of the suspects holding his wallet, prompting him to chase after her.
Patrolling police officers who saw the commotion immediately arrested the two suspects and recovered the stolen wallet from them.
Further investigation revealed the two women were known members of the Dura-Dura Gang, a group of thieves that employs spit as a distraction technique and is associated with several theft incidents in crowded places.
The suspects were placed under police custody and will be charged with theft.
