Petition to bring back Heeseung to ENHYPEN ends with more than 2 million signatures
The petition aiming to bring back K-pop idol Heeseung to his group, ENHYPEN, ended with more than two million signatures.
Last March 10, Belift Lab, the agency of ENHYPEN, announced that Heeseung will be leaving ENHYPEN and embark on a solo career.
This prompted fans to launch an online petition on Change.org titled “Allow Heeseung to Pursue Solo Activities Without Leaving ENHYPEN.”
The petition ended on March 17 with the support of 2,084,798 people worldwide.
“Victory! This petition made change with 2,084,798 supporters!” according to the announcement on Change.org.
The petition will be submitted to Belift Lab with the hope that the company will change the decision about Heeseung.
In its announcement, Belift Lab said through discussions, “it became clear that Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it.”
“BELIFT LAB has given much thought and consideration into ENHYPEN's future direction and goals. Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it. As such, Heeseung will be parting ways with ENHYPEN, and ENHYPEN will continue official activities henceforth as a group of six members.” it added.
Belift Lab is firm with its announcement, reiterating that Heeseung will not rejoin ENHYPEN.
“Heeseung will not be returning to Enhypen. He has a clear artistic direction he wants to pursue, and we decided to respect that,” the agency said, the Korea Herald reported.
Fans have organized protest trucks in front of HYBE headquarters as part of the campaign to bring Heeseung back to the group.
