With fuel prices as high as they are, it seems rather timely that Toyota Motor Philippines has now made available the two of the new models that they teased earlier in the year. These two are the new RAV4 HEV and Urban Cruiser EV.

The Urban Cruiser is Toyota’s smallest pure EV for the Philippine market. It is about the size of a Yaris Cross and slots right under the recently-launched bZ4X.

It bears SUV-styling with a dash of urban sophistication. It has muscular haunches around the wheel and protective cladding like an SUV, but its front façade and rear taillights looks inspired by sporty hatchbacks.

You won’t soon forget its unique black and brown interior with the brown bar stretching across the dashboard. It contrasts well against the mostly black interior with silver accents.

Passengers will enjoy the large 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. It is connected to a 9-speaker JBL audio system. The screen also displays the view from the 360-degree camera system.

Other perks include a panoramic sunroof, and rear 40:20:40 split seats equipped that can slide forward or backward to increase legroom. Rear passengers also get to enjoy a flat floor.

For safety, the Urban Cruiser comes with advanced drive assist systems (ADAS) and adaptive cruise control, front collision, rear cross traffic, and blind spot monitoring. For passive safety, it has seven airbags and the customary electronic stability system.

As we stated, the Urban Cruiser is a pure EV and draws power from a 61-kWh LFP battery. It powers a 174-PS and 189-Nm electric motor that drives the front wheels. Toyota claims the Urban Cruiser can drive as far as 475-km on a full charge. It is compatible with CCS Type 2 charging plugs. A free wall box charger comes with every vehicle.

The Urban Cruiser EV is now available at select Toyota BEV dealers, most of which are in Metro Manila. Toyota San Fernando, Sta. Rosa, Mabolo Cebu, and Mandaue South Cebu are also among the BEV dealers.

The 2026 Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is priced at P 2,135,000.

Another teased and highly-anticipated model is the new RAV4. While we did get a sneak peak of the vehicle at the Japan Mobility Show, among the many happy surprises is the two unique variants it comes in.

The RAV4 HEV will be offered in Limited and Adventure variants. Besides coming in different trim levels and features, the two variants will also have distinct looks.

The RAV4 Adventure can be distinguished by its flat nose, distinct wheel overfenders, and bumper guards on the front and rear for a more rugged look. It rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/60 series Dunlop e.Sport Maxx tires designed specifically for electrified vehicles.

It also gets projector LED headlights, tall and functional roof rails, a tilt & slide moonroof, a power tailgate, and stylish wraparound LED taillights.

Inside, the RAV4 Adventure gets a high-tech and leather-wrapped interior. It is complemented by orange accents on the steering wheel, center console, and seat backrests, which give the interior a sportier look & feel.

It also gets a mechanical gear selector, a large center console with integrated cupholders, USB-C charging ports, a wireless charging pad, a drive mode selector, and a 360-degree around-view monitor (AVM).

The Limited variant is distinguished by its sleeker design, bearing Toyota’s distinct ‘Hammerhead’ design language. You could say the Limited is more suited to urban and formal events.

It also gets unique features like auto-leveling headlamps, a panoramic moonroof, but also features like a power tailgate and the same wraparound LED taillights. It rolls on lower profile 235/50 series tires with 20-inch alloy wheels.

Unique features continue inside with a more mature interior style. It has unique features like a shift-by-wire gear selector. It also gets a large center console with integrated cupholders, USB-C charging ports, a wireless charging pad, a drive mode selector, and a 360-degree around-view monitor (AVM).

Infotainment in both variants is a 12.9-inch touchscreen media display with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. It’s connected to a 9-speaker JBL sound system. It also has satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. The driver gets their own large 12.3-inch TFT multi-info display.

Powering the RAV4 is a electrified 2.5L A25A-FXS inline-four that benefits from VVT-iE and VVT-i. The hybrid powertrain makes a combined 239-PS with 221-Nm of torque thanks to a pair of electric motors. The front motor puts out 136-PS with 208-Nm while the rear motor produces 54-PS and 121-Nm. Power is then sent to all four wheels via an e-CVT with e-Four AWD.

Toyota says it can achieve an average of up to 28.6 km/L in the highway and 17.9 km/L in the city, respectively. This gives the crossover the ability to have a combined average fuel consumption of 20.4 km/L.

As for safety, it comes with Toyota Safety Sense as standard. This gives it a suite of intelligent driver aids, such as a pre-collision system, automatic high beams, lane-tracing assist, lane departure alert, and dynamic radar cruise control (AKA adaptive cruise control). For extra peace of mind, the RAV4 is also equipped with seven airbags in total (driver, passenger, front side, curtain shield, and driver's knee).

The RAV4 2.5 HEV is now available and priced at P2,183,000 for the Adventure and P2,499,000 for the Limited.
