The Ashtine Olviga era is here - and she's just getting started
Hot off the back-to-back success of Ang Mutya ng Section E seasons 1 and 2 and her breakout film role in Minamahal, “The Nation’s Mutya” Ashtine Olviga is cementing her place as one of the most compelling young stars in the industry today.
Now, she takes on her most ambitious project yet — Viva One Originals: Ashtine — an anthology series that puts her full range on full display, with the first episode premiering on March 13.

Viva One Originals is Viva One’s newest anthology series, designed to spotlight today’s brightest stars across a wide range of characters and stories. Ashtine makes history as the first star to headline the anthology — and she does so across four original stories, each rooted in a completely different genre, all anchored by one phenomenal performer.
The anthology launched on March 13 with the comedy episode “Who’s the Boss?” directed by RC delos Reyes. Ashtine plays a bright, eager assistant opposite comedy icon Rufa Mae Quinto as a sharp-tongued CEO — and when a mysterious curse swaps their bodies overnight, the two must navigate each other’s worlds while keeping the switch under wraps to save the company. Beyond the laughs, the episode weaves in themes of empathy, self-discovery, and what power really costs.
The next episode, streaming on March 20, is the romantic story ‘My Melody,’ directed by Fifth Solomon. Ashtine plays Melody, a fangirl whose world revolves around Korean artist Chanwoo (Lee Dae Won). By her side is George, her musician best friend played by Rob Deniel in his first major acting role, who has quietly loved her for years. When Chanwoo relocates to the Philippines, fate draws him into Melody’s world, sparking a budding romance. Yet with George’s unspoken feelings lingering in the background, one question remains: who will ultimately capture Melody’s heart?
Ashtine ventures into darker territory with “Balik-Eskwela,” one of her most intense performances to date. Inspired by a viral TikTok horror piece from Book of Bad Ideas and directed by Roni S. Benaid, the episode follows Moana Marie — a student whose first day of school quickly spirals from excitement into pure terror when she uncovers a horrifying truth about herself. Caught between life and death, Moana must race against time to find justice and protect innocent lives. With Marco Gumabao and Sara Joe rounding out the cast, this suspense-driven episode drops on March 27.
The anthology closes on April 4 with “Bahay-Bahayan,” a deeply moving family drama written and directed by Joy Aquino. In it, Ashtine shares the screen with award-winning Optimum Star Claudine Barretto in what promises to be an emotionally charged pairing.
Ashtine plays Blessie, a fiercely independent young woman raised by her grandmother while her mother — portrayed by Claudine — worked abroad. When her mother finally returns home, the reunion is anything but easy. As the two struggle to reconnect, long-buried emotions surface, and a painful truth emerges that could either heal their fractured bond — or break it for good.
Taken together, the four episodes paint a vivid portrait of an actress in full bloom — versatile, fearless, and more than capable of anchoring stories of any weight or scale.
Ashtine’s path to this moment has been anything but ordinary. She first stepped into the spotlight through the 2016 talent search Born to Be A Star, went on to perform in P-pop groups, and steadily built her résumé through supporting roles and standout performances on both television and film — including a Best Supporting Actress-nominated turn in MMFF’s Manila’s Finest. Each step of the way, she has grown more assured, and more undeniable.
And this is only the beginning. See Ashtine Olviga like never before in Viva One Originals: Ashtine — streaming now on Viva One, with a brand-new episode dropping every week starting March 13.
