ShopeePay integrates with HitPay to expand digital payments in Philippines
ShopeePay has partnered with HitPay to expand digital payment access in the Philippines, enabling millions of users to transact across a wider network of online and offline merchants.
In a statement on Tuesday, March 17, ShopeePay said its integration with HitPay—one of the fastest-growing payment gateways for Philippine small and medium enterprises (SMEs)—connects its users to thousands of businesses nationwide, including brands such as Jisulife, Aula Philippines, Chiron Activewear, Mad Bombs, Hale Manna, and Coastal Gardens.
The integration comes as digital payments in the Philippines continue to grow, but fragmented systems and multiple platforms still create inconsistent checkout experiences for consumers and operational challenges for merchants, particularly SMEs. The ShopeePay-HitPay partnership aims to simplify transactions by consolidating payment methods into a single, secure, and easy-to-use platform.
Through the integration, ShopeePay users can access services such as the ShopeePay Wallet for fast and convenient checkouts, SPayLater for flexible payment options, and linked bank transactions via MariBank Philippines Inc. For HitPay merchants, the partnership enables the consolidation of ShopeePay into a unified gateway, streamlining operations while giving access to a larger, highly engaged customer base.
Hazel Sumampong, head of product and marketing at ShopeePay, said the collaboration is a meaningful step toward building a more inclusive payments ecosystem. “At ShopeePay, we’re committed to giving users easy access to digital payment services. We want Filipinos to enjoy fast and secure online and offline payments through a more inclusive digital financial ecosystem. Our integration with HitPay strengthens this mission by making digital payments more convenient for users and more empowering for businesses,” she said.
Aditya Haripurkar, chief executive officer (CEO) of HitPay, highlighted the benefits for merchants. “We’re thrilled to welcome ShopeePay into our merchant ecosystem. With mobile wallets accounting for more than 60 percent of all retail e-commerce transaction value in the Philippines, this partnership comes at an opportune time. By embedding ShopeePay directly into HitPay, we are enabling our merchants to capture this dominant shift in consumer behavior and connect seamlessly with millions of active ShopeePay users,” he said.
With the integration now live, HitPay merchants across the Philippines can immediately begin accepting ShopeePay for both online and offline transactions, including one-time and recurring payments.
ShopeePay is part of Monee, the digital financial services arm of Sea Ltd., while HitPay operates as a regional payment platform supporting businesses across Southeast Asia.
