Nissan names Yoshinori Kanazawa as new Philippine president
The local subsidiary of Japanese automotive giant Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. has named seasoned executive Yoshinori Kanazawa as its new president.
Kanazawa will assume his new role in Nissan Philippines Inc. on April 1, replacing outgoing president Masao Tsutsumi, who has been promoted to president of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand.
Kanazawa currently serves as managing director of the Nissan Importers Business Unit (NIBU), ASEAN, and Managing Director of Nissan Singapore International, based in Thailand.
Under this role, he manages Nissan’s importer business operations across Southeast Asia while also coordinating with regional partners to support market development across the region.
Prior to this, Kanazawa held senior positions within Nissan China and its joint ventures, contributing to strategic planning and dealer network expansion.
For nearly two decades within the automotive firm, he also held leadership roles across Japan, China, and other international markets, focusing on corporate planning, product planning, and dealer network development.
Following his qualification under domestic laws, followed by confirmation and election by the Nissan Philippines Board of Directors, Kanazawa’s official inauguration will proceed.
Kanazawa will report to Tsutsumi, who now heads Nissan’s ASEAN and Thailand operations.
During his tenure as president of Nissan Philippines, Tsutsumi focused on initiatives that strengthened the company’s presence in the domestic market presence.
He also worked closely with the organization and dealer partners to reinforce the company’s network and enhance overall customer experience.
“Nissan Philippines expresses its sincere gratitude to Tsutsumi-san for his leadership and contributions to the company and wishes him continued success in his new role,” the company said.
Based on sales data from Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), Nissan Philippines holds a market share of 4.56 percent by the end of January, selling 1,589 vehicles in total.
