Las Piñas trike drivers receive P5,000 cash aid

The Las Piñas city government began distributing P5,000 in cash assistance to tricycle drivers under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar said the payout was held at the Aguilar Sports Complex as part of the national government’s initiative led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to help transport workers cope with the rising fuel prices amid tensions in the Middle East.
Aguilar said the program is being implemented through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and other local government offices, to ensure an orderly and peaceful cash distribution.
The mayor said that on the first day of the payout, nearly 2,000 drivers from Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Associations (TODA) received the financial assistance.
Aguilar added that the distribution will continue in the coming days to cover all registered TODA members in the city.
The local government reiterated its full support for programs aimed at easing the financial burden of residents and helping sustain the daily livelihood of Las Piñeros.
