Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero formally asked on Tuesday, March 17, that his name be excluded from any pre-election preference surveys for higher office in 2028.

In a statement, Escudero reiterated he has no intention of seeking a higher elective post in the upcoming elections.
"His presence on prospective candidate lists for President or Vice President may not only fuel a misleading public narrative but also impact polling accuracy," the statement read.
"Excluding his name is a necessary measure to ensure that survey results accurately reflect actual or highly probable candidacies, thereby upholding the interests of both the public and the polling firms’ research credibility," it added.
It also stated that Escudero is focused solely on his legislative mandate on the Senate floor: prioritizing the passage of critical economic legislation, championing robust support for MSMEs, and decisively equipping our farmers and workforce to navigate the impending global financial strain.
