'Amihan' weakening but still bringing light rains over parts of Northern Luzon — PAGASA
The northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” is weakening and is now affecting only parts of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, March 17.
PAGASA weather specialist Veronica Torres said the effects of the amihan are expected to continue weakening in the coming days.
“Meanwhile, we are not monitoring any low-pressure area or tropical cyclone inside or near the Philippine area of responsibility,” she added.
Over the next 24 hours, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light rains caused by the amihan may prevail over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, and Aurora.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also associated with the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorm activity.
