2 caught in Northern Samar for illegal fuel transport

TACLOBAN CITY — Two men were arrested on Monday for alleged possession, illegal sale, transport, and distribution of fuel in Barobaybay, Lavezares, Northern Samar.
The suspects were identified as Pran, 49, from Barangay Libas, Lavezares, who was driving an Isuzu aluminum van truck.
His companion was identified as Edu, an alleged employee of Fuel Central Inc. from Barangay 6, Pambujan, Northern Samar.
The suspects were apprehended following information that the suspects were transporting oil products without authorization.    
The suspects claimed they were tasked by Fuel Central Inc. management to deliver 54 containers of gasoline to the Barobaybay pier for transport via motor banca to Biri, Northern Samar. The contraband was worth P83,776.
They will be charged for violating Sections 2a and 3a of Presidential Decree (PD) 1865 that prohibits illegal possession and sale of petroleum products.
