DAVAO CITY — Vice President Sara Z. Duterte met incumbent and former members of the Davao City Council for a luncheon over the weekend as part of the activities of the 89th Araw ng Dabaw.
The gathering, attended by Davao City Vice Mayor Rodrigo S. Duterte II, brought together local officials who had previously worked with the Vice President during her years in public service in Davao City.
In a message, Vice President Duterte said she was pleased to reconnect with fellow Davaoeños and former colleagues from the city government and thanked them for their warm reception and continued support.
Councilor Temujin Ocampo, chairman of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, said the gathering served as an opportunity for local leaders to celebrate Araw ng Dabaw with the Vice President.
Former Councilor Halila Sudagar said she was glad to reunite with Vice President Duterte, noting that the Vice President even joined the group for photos.
Former Councilor Mary Joselle Villafuerte extended her greetings for the Araw ng Dabaw celebration and acknowledged the presence of the Vice President, the Vice Mayor, and council members.
The luncheon served as a reunion for local officials who once worked together in city governance while participating in the annual festivities marking the founding and continuing development of Davao City.
Vice President Duterte also visited the newly white-painted Davao City Hall on Sunday. Davaoeños also had the chance to take photos during her visit.
