Three people were reportedly killed, while two others were critically injured, after a speeding car driven by a senior citizen crashed into a motorcycle and a sidewalk in Barangay San Isidro, Angono, Rizal, on Sunday, March 15.
The Angono Municipal Police Station said the 66-year-old female driver lost control of her vehicle after losing its brakes while coming down the sloped exit of the subdivision where she lives.
Her vehicle first hit a motorcycle with four people onboard before crashing into the sidewalk.
A 69-year-old street dweller who was sitting on the sidewalk was killed on the spot after sustaining fatal head injuries from the crash.
Meanwhile, two of the motorcycle's passengers, a 15-year-old boy and a 26-year-old woman, were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Its other occupants, a 13-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man who was identified as the motorcycle's driver, are still in critical condition due to their injuries.
The police said the elderly driver will be facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, physical injury, and damage to property.
