BACOLOD CITY – A abandoned newborn boy was found in Barangay Cabug here on Saturday night, March 14.

Police Staff Sgt. Charmie Jimenez, investigator of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of the Police Station 9, said that a resident heard a baby cry past 10 p.m. at the back of his house.

He checked and saw the infant lying face down on the ground with his umbilical cord still attached and ant bites in the face.

He brought the baby to a hospital and reported his discovery to the barangay.

The baby is in stable condition and will be turned over by the barangay to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Police urged the baby’s parents to come forward. Netizens expressed concern for his welfare.
