Students of Rosauro Almario Elementary School in Tondo received a major boost to their sports and arts programs after the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) Foundation donated more than P2 million worth of sports equipment and musical instruments to the school.
The donation was formally turned over during a ceremony led by Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, who thanked the foundation for its continued support of the city’s youth development programs.
Domagoso expressed his appreciation to the organization, led by its executive director, Filip Laurena, noting that the donation will help nurture the talents of young Manileños in sports and other extracurricular activities.
“Maraming salamat sa ICTSI. Sa lahat ng panahon, lagi kayong kasama, sa aberya man o sa mga programang tulad nito para sa sports at extracurricular activities ng ating mga kabataan (Many thanks to ICTSI. Through the years, you have always been with us, whether in times of difficulty or in programs like this that support the sports and extracurricular activities of our youth),” the mayor said.
The mayor also highlighted the city’s recent achievement in the NCR Palaro 2026, where Manila emerged as the overall champion.
With the city’s top ranking in the regional sporting event, Domagoso said the local government will further strengthen its support for student-athletes who show potential to excel not only in national competitions but also on the global stage.
City officials said the newly donated equipment will help enhance school-based sports and arts programs, giving students more opportunities to develop their skills, creativity, and discipline.
