Second batch of Middle East repatriates arriving March 15
The second batch of Filipinos repatriated from the Middle East amid ongoing regional tensions is scheduled to arrive in Manila on Sunday, Malacañang said.
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Dave Gomez said Saturday, March 14, that the repatriates will arrive aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR8502 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The flight is expected to land at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 6:35 a.m. on March 15.
According to Gomez, the passengers are overseas Filipino workers returning to the country as part of the government’s continuing repatriation efforts.
Authorities and support teams will be stationed at the airport to assist the arriving Filipinos.
The repatriates will also receive assistance to help facilitate their return to their respective home provinces.
The arrival marks the second group of Filipinos to be brought home from the Middle East amid rising tensions in the region.
The first batch of repatriates arrived in the Philippines on March 5 aboard a flight from Dubai.
