CEBU CITY – No one has come forward to report a missing individual, four days after a man was forced to ride a van in a market in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Police Lt. Col. John Kareen Escober, chief of the Tagbilaran City Police Station, said they were puzzled that no one showed up to seek assistance to locate a missing individual.
“No one has visited our station looking for a husband, a son, or perhaps a sibling. That’s why we continue to appeal to the public to visit our station if they have a relative who has gone missing,” Escober said Saturday.
Escober said they were surprised to discover that the plate number of the van used to abduct the victim in Barangay Dao on Wednesday belonged to a motorcycle in Cotabato.
He said a check with the Land Transportation showed that the motorcycle is owned by a resident of Balindog, Kidapawan City, Cotabato.
Escober added investigators have reached out to the person who uploaded the video of the supposed kidnapping on social media.
He said the uploader said he did not take the footage and was only passed to him.
Police said it was also discovered that the uploader is a known critic of Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado.
Aumentado has offered a P50,000 cash reward to anyone who can provide information that would lead to the arrest of the abductors.
