Manila eyes digital tourism website to showcase city's heritage, destinations
The Manila City government is exploring the creation of a digital tourism website aimed at promoting the capital’s rich heritage, cultural landmarks, and culinary attractions to a wider audience.
Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso met with officials and private sector partners to discuss the initiative, which seeks to expand tourism opportunities in the city through an accessible online platform.
The meeting was attended by Cristal Bagatsing, officer-in-charge of the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts of Manila, and John Fisalbon, president of ReelReve Advertising Inc.
City officials said the proposed platform will feature Manila’s colorful history, popular tourist destinations, cultural sites, and local food scene, making it easier for both residents and visitors to explore what the capital has to offer.
Through the digital tourism website, travelers, from Manileños to local and foreign tourists, will be able to discover attractions, plan visits, and learn more about the city’s historic districts and emerging destinations.
The local tourism office said the initiative is expected to help strengthen tourism while boosting local businesses and the city’s economy, as Manila continues to highlight its role as one of the country’s most historically significant urban centers.
