Authorities are hunting down a man in Antipolo City who stabbed and injured his neighbor following a fistfight that reportedly began after he allegedly provoked the victim with offensive words.
According to the Antipolo Component City Police Station (Antipolo CCPS), the incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, on Sunflower Street, Phase 2, Saarland Village, Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City, Rizal, where both the suspect, identified as “Baliw,” and the victim reside.
Based on the initial investigation, the suspect allegedly uttered offensive and provoking words against the victim and his family members, which resulted in an altercation that later escalated into a fistfight between them.
Authorities said that shortly after the fistfight, the suspect allegedly drew a butterfly knife and stabbed the victim on his right lower rib.
The suspect immediately fled the scene on foot towards an unknown direction.
The victim was quickly brought to Rizal Provincial Hospital Annex II in Barangay Dalig, Antipolo City, for immediate medical attention, but was later transferred to Amang Rodriguez Medical Center in Marikina City.
A follow-up operation is currently underway for the possible arrest of the suspect.
