BACOLOD CITY – A 55-year-old former barangay tanod was allegedly gunned down by two brothers on Hilado St., Purok Bagong Hilway, Barangay 22 here on Friday night, March 13.
Police Capt. Efren Legada, head of Police Station 1, said the victim was having a drinking session in front of a sari-sari store when the suspects arrived on a motorcycle.
The victim and the suspects had a brief conversation before gunshots rang out. The victim was wounded in the head and chest and died instantly.
Legada said the victim and the suspects were staying in one compound and there was an instance that he would say something to the suspects about their parked vehicle.
The victim reported to the barangay that he was threatened by the suspects.
The suspects fled but were apprehended in their house in Barangay 20 here.
Recovered from them were the murder weapon, guns, and bullets.
Grudges over a parking misunderstanding allegedly triggered the suspects to shoot the victim.
Murder charges are being readied against the suspects who are detained at Police Station 1.
