Myrtle Sarrosa earns Best Dressed honors at 'One Piece' Gala in Japan
Filipina actress, cosplayer, and streamer Myrtle Sarrosa earned international acclaim after being named Best Dressed at the red carpet premiere of Netflix’s One Piece Live Action Season 2 in Tokyo, Japan.
Anime fans and content creators from around the world gathered in Tokyo for the highly anticipated event, which also featured appearances by the show’s cast members: Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu Arata, Taz Skylar, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Emily Rudd.
Representing the Philippines, Myrtle walked the red carpet and interviewed the cast. Staying true to her love for cosplay, she showcased several One Piece–inspired looks, including Nami, Miss All Sunday (Nico Robin), Zoro, and Chopper.
Her standout look was a Miss All Sunday–inspired gown by Daddy, styled by En Fernandez and Myrtle herself, which ultimately earned her the Best Dressed honor. Videos shared online showed fellow content creators like King Vader, Stella Chu, Ace of Spades, Allen Ansay, and Arshiethromycin celebrating Sarrosa’s win.
Myrtle also received praise from the cast. Emily Rudd, who plays Nami, called her “beautiful” in the Miss All Sunday look, while Taz Skylar, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Iñaki Godoy commended her Tony Tony Chopper cosplay.
Beyond meeting and interviewing the cast, Sarrosa lived every fan’s dream when Mackenyu Arata paused to give her an autograph, making the moment even more memorable for the longtime One Piece fan and cosplayer.
This recognition adds to Sarrosa’s expanding list of achievements in cosplay and gaming. Over the past year, she has received multiple honors, including the Otaku Awards Cosplay Hall of Fame, VP Awards Cosplayer of the Year, VP Awards Streamer of the Year, and PH Esports Awards Cosplayer of the Year.
