BACOLOD CITY – A minor, accompanied by his father, surrendered to the Land Transportation Office (LTO)-Negros Island Region in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental following a viral Superman motorcycle stunt in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental recently.
A video and photo of the rider were posted by a content creator on social media, prompting authorities to track him down.
They were directed to surrender the motorcycle and appear before the LTO-NIR within five days to explain why sanctions—including possible disqualification from obtaining a driver’s license—should not be imposed.
Authorities issued a show-cause order and verified through the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) that the rider does not possess a driver’s license.
The agency said evidence circulating online shows the rider lying flat on his motorcycle while it was in motion, an act considered reckless and dangerous not only to himself but also to motorists, passengers, and pedestrians using the road.
“Public roads are not stunt arenas,” the agency stressed.
The LTO said that the minor has submitted his written reply to the show cause order on Friday, March 13. The response will be forwarded to the LTO-NIR office for evaluation and appropriate action.
The agency has reiterated its warning against performing dangerous stunts on public roads and emphasized the need for responsible driving and road safety.
The LTO-NIR said they remain steadfast in promoting road safety and discipline among all road users across the region.
There were similar incidents in the region in the past.
Last year, the LTO-NIR flagged down rider for a Superman stunt in Orange Cliff in Don Salvador Benedicto. A teacher was also caught on video doing the same stunt while driving in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental.
