Motorcycle rider hits, kills man crossing pedestrian lane in Rizal

A man died after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing a pedestrian lane along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Barangay San Isidro, Taytay, Rizal, on Wednesday morning, March 11.

Based on the initial investigation of the Taytay Municipal Police Station, the motorcycle, driven by “Mark,” was traveling the road heading towards Kaytikling in Taytay at around 7:45 a.m.
Authorities said that upon reaching in front of a shopping mall, the driver hit and bumped the victim, identified as “Marcial,” who was crossing the pedestrian lane.
Due to the impact, both the driver and the victim fell onto the pavement. A rescue team from Barangay San Isidro and Taytay police responded to the incident.
The driver was rushed to the Rizal Provincial Hospital System for medical treatment, while the victim was brought to Taytay Emergency Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The driver is now under police custody and may face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
