Cops hunt 2 men who robbed convenience store in Rizal
Authorities are hunting down two still-unidentified men who robbed and struck two people with a gun inside a convenience store in Binangonan, Rizal, early Thursday, March 12.
Based on the initial investigation, the robbery occurred inside the store in Barangay Tatala at around 1:40 a.m., when the suspects got off their motorcycle, knocked on the store’s door, and it was opened by one of the victims.
The victim then instructed the suspects to remove their helmets upon entering the store.
However, instead of complying, one of the suspects suddenly drew an unknown firearm from his waist and struck the victim on the head, while the other suspect went after another female victim and pointed an unknown firearm. The suspects then took cash from the cashier amounting to around P5,000.
The Binangonan Municipal Police Station added that the suspects also dragged the victims to the second floor. One of the suspects threatened the female victim before striking her on the head with a firearm.
The suspects also took cash from the store’s vault, amounting to around P13,000. They also took four mobile phones from the victims, including a company-issued phone, and left them on the second floor.
Authorities said the suspects immediately fled on board a black Yamaha Aerox with an unknown plate number.
They are now conducting an operation to identify and arrest the suspects.
