Adiong wants justice for deaths of 3 Meranao tribe members

House Assistant Majority Leader Lanao 1st district Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong is crushed by news of the murder of three members of the Meranao tribe in Mindanao.
Adiong, in a statement Friday, March 13, said the perpetrators of the killing must face the consequences of their actions.
"I express my deepest grief and solidarity with the families of Salic Amerol, Mutalib “George” Amerol, and Janisah Macud-Amerol, three Muslims of the Meranao tribe, whose lives were tragically cut short in Lal-lo, Cagayan on March 12, 2026," he said.
"We mourn with the entire Muslim community in Tuguegarao City and across the country. The brutal killing of our brothers and sister is a profound tragedy that has shaken all Bangsamoro and Filipino communities," Adiong said.
He specifically called on Philippine National Police (PNP), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and all relevant authorities "to conduct a thorough, impartial, and expeditious investigation".
"The families of the victims deserve clear answers, accountability, and the assurance that such crimes will not go unpunished," he reckoned.
The House leader said that no Filipino, regardless of faith or ethnicity, should ever fall victim to such violence and betrayal.
"The rule of law must prevail, and those responsible for this heinous act must be swiftly identified, apprehended, and prosecuted to the fullest extent. The perpetrators of these grave crimes are continuing threats to our peace and safety, they must be brought to justice expeditiously," he further said.
"I stand with the bereaved families and the Meranao community in prayer and solidarity, and I commit to supporting every effort to ensure that justice is served," Adiong added.
