6 hurt in 5-vehicle collision in Nueva Vizcaya

Six persons were injured in a five-vehicle collision in Barangay Villaros, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya before dawn on Friday, March 13.
Police said a northbound truck loaded with animal feeds reportedly lost its brakes.
The truck driver jumped out of the vehicle after realizing the brakes had failed. However, the truck’s helper was unable to jump out due to fear.
The truck continued moving and sideswiped three other vehicles before crashing into another truck carrying palay or unhusked rice.
The helper was trapped inside the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. The driver of the truck loaded with palay also suffered severe injuries.
The helper of the palay truck and three occupants of the three other vehicles  sustained minor injuries.
Rice grains and animal feed were scattered on the road but were immediately cleaned.
Police Major Rexer Louie Malingan, chief of the Bagabag Municipal Police Station, said the victims were taken to the hospital.
Malingan reminded drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before traveling to prevent similar incidents.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
