The Iloilo provincial government has launched the Iloilo Province Dialysis Project, an affordable dialysis service that will 50,000 residents suffering from kidney disease.
Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. said the project is a public-private partnership (PPP) between the Iloilo provincial government and Healthway Qualimed Hospital Iloilo.
Defensor said that PPP is needed as it addresses the financial limitations of the provincial government in offering affordable dialysis services.
Healthway Medical Network is allocating around P200 million for the project that will build and operate 13 dialysis centers at the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town and 12 other district hospitals owned and managed by the Iloilo provincial government.
“We are advancing health and well-being and overcoming the challenges faced by the people of Iloilo with chronic kidney deficiencies,” said Healthway President and CEO Jef Peeters.
Also present during the March 7 launching were Vice Gov. Lee Ann Debuque, Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. (AC Health) President and Chief Executive Officer Paolo Borromeo, Healthway Medical Network Group Chief Operating Officer Dr. Cay Consunji, AC Health Chief Health Officer Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho, Healthway Qualimed Hospital Iloilo COO Edith de Leon, and Healthway Qualimed Hospital Iloilo Medical Director Dr. Venerio Gasatay Jr.
